What a great week for Lions’ fans! While the classrooms were quiet during the early part of the week, our student-athletes were keeping busy on the field and courts.

The Varsity Boys’ Soccer team defeated a tough Northwestern Lehigh team in the Colonial League semi-finals yesterday by a 1-0 score. The boys needed to beat Southern Lehigh to earn the Colonial League title. They did so in dramatic fashion as senior Julius Ewungkem '20 scored the overtime game-winner to defeat the Spartans by a 3-2 score. The boys have also earned the number 1 seed in the District XI tournament and will play on Tuesday, October 29th.

The Varsity Field Hockey team beat Bangor in the League semi-finals but were defeated by Southern Lehigh in the finals by a score of 5-3. The team will be the number 1 seed in the District XI A tournament and will play on Monday 10/28 at a site and time to be determined.

Grace Sanborn '21 competed in the East Regionals PIAA golf qualifiers. She shot an 83 and qualified for the PIAA Golf individual championship. She will play on Monday, October 21st and Tuesday, October 22nd at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York.

The District XI doubles tournament took center stage on the courts this week. Miranda Gibson '20 and Dedee Hoffman '21 earned a silver medal losing in the finals in three sets to the doubles team from Central Catholic. The girls’ focus will now return to the team competition as they will play in the first round of the PIAA State team tournament. Their first match is set to take place on Tuesday 10/22 at 11:30 am at Winning Touch in Allentown. The team will face Wyoming Seminary.

Our Varsity Girls’ Soccer team beat Palisades in the first round of the Colonial League playoffs in overtime by a goal scored by Lauren Reid '22. The team then moved on to the Colonial League semi-finals where they were defeated by Southern Lehigh by a score of 2-1. The team competed extremely hard and should be proud of their run in the League playoffs. They have earned the number 1 seed in the District XI A tournament and will play on Tuesday, October 29th in the semi-finals at a site and time to be determined.

The Boys’ and Girls’ Cross-Country teams competed in the Colonial League Championship on Thursday at DeSales University.
