The Volunteer Center of Lehigh Valley organizes an annual program, Holiday Hope Chest.

Winter-themed wrapped boxes are filled with suggested items and are given to homeless and disadvantaged school-age youth in the Lehigh Valley. Since 2000, Moravian Academy has donated 2,537 boxes. The need continues to grow and this year, Lehigh Valley non-profit organizations are requesting over 8,000 thousand boxes for children.

Who: We are collecting items specifically for girls, boys, or non-gender specific ages 9 - 16 years.

What:

  • Regular-sized shoeboxes or decorative memory
boxes (separate lid preferred; no boot boxes)
  • Winter-themed wrapping paper for shoeboxes
  • Items to fill the shoeboxes - See Amazon Wish List
  • Non-gender-specific items

Where: Items purchased from our Amazon Wishlist can be mailed directly to the school! Donations can also be:

  • dropped off at the entryway of Lower School Main Building, 7 East, or Devey

  • directly mailed to 11 W. Market (Devey Building, Attn: Andriana Turcotte)

When: The donation deadline is Tuesday, November 21, 2023

Thank you in advance for your support in providing “happiness in a shoebox” to as many children as possible.
