2020 Virtual Birthday Lovefeast

April 23, 2020

On Wednesday, we held our first-ever virtual All-School Birthday Lovefeast to celebrate 278 years of learning and growth.

The Lovefeast began with a simple, communal meal. It was August 13, 1727. The early Moravians were living on the estate of Count Zinzendorf in Berthelsdorf, Germany. On that Wednesday morning, they were deeply inspired by their shared sense of community and didn’t want to return to their separate homes for dinner, so Count Zinzendorf sent them food from his kitchen.

This they partook of together in love.

This year, as we honored our unique tradition and the 278th Birthday of Moravian Academy, we were all in separate homes. But we were still able to share a simple meal together in spirit!
