A Visit to the Japanese Garden of Serenity

Taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather by enjoying some traditional Japanese flower viewing (花見 "hanami") of the cherry blossom trees ( "sakura") in Bethlehem, Second Grade took a short field trip to the Garden of Serenity, located next to the Bethlehem Are Main Public Library.

The students enjoyed the simple beauty of the peaceful Japanese aesthetic as they watched the blue sky dappled light through the pink blooms. We are looking forward to continuing to learn more about Japan in the coming weeks as we continue into our unit on Japanese culture.

While there is no Cherry Blossom Festival this year, if you have a chance, go enjoy the cherry blossoms this weekend!
