Juneteenth originated in Texas, commemorating June 19, 1865, when African Americans in Galveston learned belatedly of the Emancipation Proclamation, which had been signed more than two years before.
On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Swain Campus hosted the well-loved tradition of Harvest Feast, and twenty two Swain Campus graduates from the Class of 2022 joined us back on campus to celebrate.
