For the past few weeks, students in third grade have been learning about functional text.

We have been reading recipes, instructions, and directions, and also writing our own how-to essays all about how to build a snowman. At the end of the writing process, students had a chance to  get outside to make real snowmen!

We then added photographs of our snowmen to our published pieces of writing. Would you like to learn how to build a snowman?
