Kindergarten Waits for Eggs to Hatch

April 16, 2021

Downstairs Kindergarten can't wait to welcome baby chicks into the world, taking care to rotate the eggs in the incubator every day.

IMG_7434Fourth-grade teacher Sra. Matlack gave Kindergarteners 11 eggs to watch hatch. Every day for 21 days, a student takes a turn being the "hen" or "rooster" and carefully turns the eggs. Each egg is marked so that students know just how much they need to move. Pictured, Henry '33 does a great job being a rooster.

We're hoping to welcome baby chicks into the world next month. Check back soon for an update!
