8th Graders Visit Washington DC

October 21, 2019

The eighth-graders recently returned back to campus from a three-day overnight visit to Washington, DC. Led by Mr. David Walp and the eighth-grade team, students trekked around the capital city making connections with the curriculum. On the first day, students enjoyed lunch at the Ronald Reagan building followed by walking tours to places along the National Mall, including the Natural History Museum, the National Museum of American History, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. That evening, students toured the many monuments during a guided tour.

On day two, students visited the National Holocaust Museum, the National Zoo, engaged in some circle conversations in small groups, and completed the day with some free time to play games and see a movie.

The third and final day students visited the Newseum where students explored the museum and also engaged in programming around Fighting Fake News. Following lunch, the group traveled to the Steven F. Udvar Hazy National Air and Space Museum before departing for Moravian.

Overall, a good experience was had by all. Everyone returned back to the Lehigh Valley exhausted but full of stories and new learning experiences to share.
