Swain Founder's Day is October 19, 2022
Join us on October 19, 2022, on the Swain Campus, to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of D. Esther Swain's school in 1929. We reserve this special day each year to honor our founder and her mission to nurture the collective joy of learning and individual spirit within each child.
Founder's Day Event Details and Timeline
8:30 AM: Check-In - Registration Tables in the Front Lobby and McCann Center. Refreshments will be available in Rogers Commons.
8:45 AM: Founder’s Day Celebration - All families and students should go to the McCann Center for the special celebration which will include:
- Welcome from Mrs. Megan Franzyshen and Dr. Sue Das
- Pinning ceremony for students in Kindergarten and new faculty/staff and students, which culminates in a presentation of Swain’s honor pledge.
- Musical Performances by students
- A history lesson about Founder’s Day and our school
- Donor introduction and presentation
- Closing remarks and singing of the Alma Mater
10:00 AM: Tree Planting - Join Mrs. Megan Franzyshen, Dr. Sue Das, and student representatives to plant trees that will help add to the beauty of our campus! Location of newly planted trees will be shared soon!
