The Benefit for Moravian Academy 2023
Oh, what a night!! This past Saturday, the Benefit for Moravian Academy was absolutely special.
It is known that philanthropy is vital to the success of an independent school like Moravian Academy and our community raised their hands in support. It was heartwarming to see our whole community come and celebrate Moravian Academy and its three campuses. It was also humbling to see so many people make it a priority by raising their paddles at the in-person event, getting involved in our sweepstakes, or bidding online on our virtual silent auction all weekend long. I am pleased to share that close to $210,000 was raised through philanthropy to support the students and faculty of our great school.
With my humblest appreciation, I would like to thank all of the volunteers who worked on this fabulous event. It takes a community of tireless, dedicated, and creative volunteers to work on an event as large as the one we pulled off this weekend. I especially want to thank the co-chairs of the event, Colleen Marshall, Kausar Jaffer, Lisa Suppan, and Maureen Falcone, as well as our Honorary Chairs, Tania Marsh and Christine Mira. Without their vision and leadership, this weekend wouldn’t have been so successful. They were ably assisted by a fabulous volunteer crew consisting of talented parents from all three of our campuses. The collaboration was infectious, and the results were stellar. Lastly, I’d like to thank my colleagues in the Office of Institutional Advancement, especially Jessica McPherson, who was the staff coordinator.
This past weekend showed how important our community is in so many ways. Moravian Academy and its three campuses are stronger together and the funds raised will be used for faculty and staff compensation, our beautiful buildings and grounds, financial assistance, our educational program, and our Lehigh Valley Summerbridge program. I am so grateful for everyone who made this weekend such a success.
I hope you will take a look at the photos from the event. To those of you who attended, bid, sponsored the event, or donated an item to be auctioned, THANK YOU! If you were unable to attend this year, there will be additional opportunities to be philanthropic to support the school this year and we hope that you will consider getting involved in and attending the Benefit next year.
