Third Grade Visits Lehigh University Art Galleries
Every spring, third graders participate in a project that enables them to connect the arts of photography and poetry.
On Thursday, March 17, students traveled over to Lehigh University to view current art exhibits in a variety of campus buildings. They were able to view paintings, sculptures, mixed media art, and photographs by many modern artists. The purpose of this trip was to support the students' understanding of composition, framing, cropping, and lighting so that they can use this knowledge when taking their own photographs for the upcoming Photography & Poetry project.
Before returning to school, everyone was able to try out their skills by taking photographs with a Polaroid Instax camera. It was a fun and educational experience for all!
