"I can rhyme here or there, I can rhyme anywhere!"

In phonics lessons, our second graders have been learning about powerful patterns in words. This week, the students looked and listened for rhymes in books and poems and made lists of the word patterns they found.

Each student wrote and illustrated a silly rhymes book to share with their first grade partner. After sharing these funny stories the second graders worked with their buddy to make their own silly rhyme.

It was a fun way for them to share their knowledge with others and to celebrate finishing the second grade phonics unit.
