Fourth-Grade Geocaching
October 30, 2019
Dr. Julie Oltman and Dr. Hammond from Lehigh University created a hands-on lesson to reinforce latitude and longitude. The fourth grade spent the morning outside learning how to use GPS to find targets placed around God's Acre and the parking lot at the Lower School.
They used data and computational thinking to plan their movements and find the targets. They learned how the coordinates changed as they walked in relationship to the Prime Meridian and the equator. Everyone experienced success!
