Creativity & Discovery with Lehigh University Art Galleries
Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) offers students meaningful opportunities to create and discover.
One of the benefits to learning in the Lehigh Valley is the rich offering of programming beyond our school that gives learners the opportunity to connect with their local community. Lehigh University Art Galleries is one such resource for creativity, learning, and discovery.
Recently, LUAG unveiled its Thinking Through Drawing Exhibition, which featured seven Moravian Academy community members, three of whom appeared in The Outdoor Exhibition on the South Bethlehem Greenway and all seven who are featured in the Digital Community Exhibition on display in the Main Galleries.
LUAG also generously donated art kits with journals, pencils, and other supplies to the Downtown Campus so that our learners can sketch and create whenever inspiration strikes! Students used the journals on their recent field trips to Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center (more on this trip coming soon!).
In conjunction with the Thinking Through Drawing Exhibition, this Saturday, October 16, LUAG is hosting a free Family Workshop: Creative Drawing for Kids. Looking ahead, Downtown Campus art teacher, Mr. Brian Elstein, will be collaborating with LUAG during an upcoming family workshop -- Kay Haring, Author of Keith Haring: The Boy Who Kept Drawing. Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks.
We thank LUAG for being a source of creativity, inspiration, and community-building for our school and beyond! Our learners appreciate the art kits, and we can't wait to see what they create next.
