Upper School Mentors Help Ease Eighth-Grade Transition
During the months of October and November, our eighth-grade students have been spending time at the Upper School experiencing what a typical day in the life of a ninth-grader is like.
Each Middle School advisory visited from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and got to be part of lively class discussions, advisory and community period, lunch, and many of the ninth-grade hosts took their eighth-grader on a comprehensive campus tour.
Building a connection between the downtown campus and our Merle-Smith campus is critical in making our eighth-graders feel excited and safe. Getting to be with a current ninth-grader and see how they navigate helps ease the jitters of transition.
The eighth-grade visits will culminate with a Parent Evening on Wednesday, December 4 beginning at 7 pm at the Merle-Smith (Upper School) Campus. The event offers insight into our programs and our mission.
Any parent of a current Middle School student who wishes to see our Upper School campus and schedule a personal tour, please call our Admission Office at (610) 332-5200.
