FIRE
May 04, 2020
Combining Upper School English, history, and science (biology) curricula, our Freshman Interdisciplinary Research Experience (FIRE) program incorporates shared content and skills-based instruction across the three departments throughout freshman year.
Students engage faculty and peers in research and project-based learning with elements of each discipline in mind, culminating in a year-end Independent FIRE Project.
Hear some reflections from our current sophomores, who completed the FIRE program last school year as part of the inaugural class:
What are current FIRE students exploring?
- Women in Theatre
- Celtic Mythology
- Treatment of Dogs in Different Countries
- History and Science of Aviation
- Positive Impacts of Gaming on Stress Levels
- Psychology of Naturalism in Visual Art
- Human Effect on Animal Species in Africa
- Impact of Nitrogen Levels in Green Pond
