The students in Fifth Grade social studies have been learning about the Wright brothers and their first successful flight in 1903. 

The first flight took place in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina and lasted for 59 seconds.  Students also looked at other early flying machines that had failed. Some of the failed flying machines looked hilarious from our modern perspective. In some of the videos we watched, the flying machines would fall apart within a few seconds of being turned on, inspiring the class to create memes about flight, especially when things aren't going "Wright!"
