International Festival for All Families 2019

November 19, 2019

The Global Awareness Committee coordinated the 8th annual Festival for All Families.

Hundreds of parents, guests, and students enjoyed educational entertainment such as participatory dancing and music as well as the pot luck dinner prepared by our own Moravian families. The festival started out as a way for Moravian families to gather and share different foods from different cultures and the food was initially the main draw. But, over the years it has evolved to a tradition that has grown into a climate where we are learning and respecting different aspects of cultures.

Exciting, enlightening, and interactive cultural events included: Listening to our Moravian Middle School Students play string pieces from different countries. Experiencing a unity braid in your hair Being your own Henna artist Tasting foods and flavors from around the world Creating Chinese folk art Discovering what you have in common with someone from a different culture. Special thanks to the Global Awareness Committee Co-Chaired by parents Kelli Greene and Fatima Jaffer.
