Kindergarten Show & Tell Writing Celebration

During their Show and Tell unit, our Swain Kindergarten friends shared about cherished people, places, and things during their superhero themed writing celebration.

Screen Shot 2022-03-18 at 9.34.41 AMThis unit taught the children how to make texts that are a written version of show and tell time.  The children brought show and tell items to school and wrote stories about why those items were special. They taught each other about these cherished people, places, and things.

As the unit evolved, they shared things that were too big to bring to school.  For example, Dave and Busters, Aunt and Uncle's house, and Firehouse Field Trip.

At the end of the unit, each child had multiple stories written.  After reviewing their stories, each child picked their favorite to publish and celebrate.

We chose the superhero  theme for our writing celebration because the children exhibited the following qualities while writing, illustrating, and reading their stories: extraordinary ability, great courage, ambition, bravery, inspirational, patience, and passion!

They were truly writing superheroes!
