On March 31, 2023, Five Moravian Academy Middle School students who are members of The Junior String Philharmonic, a section of the Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley, performed at the State Capitol Building. 

At the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, student musicians were invited to audition to join The Junior String Philharmonic, JSP. The violin students on both the Downtown and Swain Campuses selected include:

• Sophia Chen '29
• Isaac B. Sharma '28
• Lucy Deyton '30
• Lauren Fleshman '28

As part of the YSP, and Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley, these students are developing quality musicianship through studying and performing music with their peers from across the Lehigh Valley and Western New Jersey.  

One such performance was the opportunity to play at the State Capitol Building on March 31, 2023. The YSP chartered a bus to Harrisburg, PA, and enjoyed lunch and a tour of the Capitol Building before performing in the East Wing! 

It was a great opportunity and experience for these young performers. They had an amazing performance and a great time.
