In Fifth Grade, students were hard at work writing informational books about their areas of expertise the last month. They created a table of contents, chapters and a glossary. Many of the students drew pictures to add to their information books.
Faculty Plaid Day was established by Gail Long, a former math teacher at MA for many years. She started this tradition and we are going to continue it in her honor. Since the students don't see as many faculty throughout the day, we put on a Zoom fashion show where our Middle School faculty walked down the runway!
For the past two weeks a small, dedicated group of STEM students have participated in two different science fairs, virtually. For the first time in the history of both the Pennsylvania Junior Science Academy and the Lehigh Valley Science Fair the fair was conducted on line. In addition to being online, the young scientists could not perform their experiments at school adding a level of complexity to the overall process. However, MA students accorded themselves very well as these results show.
