August 27, 2020

According to an announcement from swimmingworldmagazine.com, Pepper Ritchey '21 has verbally committed to Villanova University with the intention to compete on the Wildcats' swimming and diving team.

Villanova has brought home the Big East Championship conference crown for the past seven consecutive seasons. In a comment about her commitment, Ritchey told swimmingworldmagazine.com:

"I’m super excited to announce my commitment to Villanova University to study and swim as a Wildcat! I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for everyone who has supported me these past couple of years, so I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for always pushing me to be the best version of myself. There are big things in store, I can’t wait to see what we accomplish!"

During her junior season competing for Moravian Academy, Ritchey won both the 100 fly and 500 free at the PIAA District XI AA Championships. Additionally, she swims with Parkland Aquatic Club and won the 500 free with five additional top-10 finishes and seven new best times at the RMSC Holiday Invite in December, as well as strong performances in the Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors and Eastern Zone Seniors.

Moravian Academy congratulates Ritchey and wishes her all the best in her future as a Wildcat.
