Rayn Jaffer '29 Takes Over as Director for the Day

April 08, 2022

It was a big day for fifth-grader Rayn Jaffer '29 as he learned all about what it takes to be Director for the Day.

IMG_4067To start the morning, he learned a lesson that leaders know all too well: Sometimes, things just don't go according to plan! There was a brief power outage on the Downtown Campus, but Rayn was unphased by this turn of events. He let Middle School classes know that students could play outside (with their teachers' permission) until the lights returned.

Just because being a leader is a lot of hard work, doesn't mean it can't also be a lot of fun! Rayn visited our preschool, prekindergarten, and kindergarten classes to read to our early child learners and, of course, he made time for recess. In fact, everyone received ten extra minutes of recess today thanks to Rayn, which he announced on MABC this morning.

Rayn ended the week with one of our favorite traditions -- by telling the joke of the day! He did a great job stepping into the shoes of a director for the day, and we know he'll make an excellent leader in the future.
