Recently, during my commute to work I heard a radio telethon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and I mentioned it to my second-grade Spanish Immersion Program students when I got to school.

We talked about the hospital's mission and commitment to children's health. We thought that it would be a great idea to write letters to children who may be spending the holidays in the hospital. We wrote our letters, and I will be mailing them this week. I hope that these beautiful messages may bring some happiness to children.
