Senior-Post Term Launches for 2024

On January 24, 2024, Dr. Rachel Engl and Ms. Patti Davis launched the signature externship program during a kick-off meeting with the Class of 2024.

The Post-term experience is an unpaid externship that allows students to apply the skills and talents they have developed during their academic career to explore future opportunities and prepare for life beyond the Merle-Smith Campus.

To be completed from May 20-30, 2024, Post-term is the final graduation requirement for seniors. This unparalleled high school experience is an excellent way for students to network and connect with potential employers and Moravian Academy alumni, five of whom spoke to the impact that Senior Post-term had on their lives in video messages to this year's seniors class. In the presentation below, hear from Joe Brau '15, Katie Fisher '19, Drew Warner '18, Julia Costacurta '16, and Matt Pulcini '18!

Externships can be completed anywhere beyond Moravian Academy under the guidance of any supervisor who is not related to the student.

A great place for seniors to start making connections and exploring possible opportunities is the Moravian Academy LinkedIn Alumni Group. Mrs. Susan Parent in the Institutional Advancement Office can also help introduce students to alumni working in industries related to their interests.

If you have questions about Senior Post-term or if your company or organization is interested in hosting a Moravian Academy student for their externship, please contact Dr. Engl or Ms. Davis
