Swain's Beauty & the Beast Jr. Opens on the McCann Center Stage

March 18, 2022

For the first time in two years, the curtains were opened on the McCann Center Stage for opening night of The Swain School production of Beauty and the Beast Jr.

DSC_0160The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Whether it was learning choreography, memorizing lines, painting flats, moving scenery, or the hundreds of other jobs it takes to put on a show, these students showed up and made it happen. In only 4.5 weeks, Beauty and the Beast came to life, and is now wowing Swain audiences every night!" - Darah Donaher, Director
