For the past two weeks a small, dedicated group of STEM students have participated in two different science fairs, virtually. For the first time in the history of both the Pennsylvania Junior Science Academy and the Lehigh Valley Science Fair the fair was conducted on line. In addition to being online, the young scientists could not perform their experiments at school adding a level of complexity to the overall process. However, MA students accorded themselves very well as these results show.
This semester in the Chanson francophone topics course, Advanced French students are discovering and decoding a variety of French music in order to delve into a variety of topics, including language and identity, history, the environment and Black Lives Matter.
Dear Reader, “Why is it that the words that we write for ourselves are always so much better than the words we write for others?” This quote from the movie Finding Forrester conveys the fact that writing is a meditative process that can only be successful and leave the writer satisfied when they look into themselves, not to others. Our best work comes when we challenge ourselves, searching for the meaning within ourselves. We find in this reflection and critical thinking those powerful truths that define moral character, inspire purpose, and solidify our place in the world.
