Mr. Ian Gutgold '10 Mr. Ian Gutgold '10, a Moravian Academy graduate, joins the history department as Mrs. Burd’s one-year replacement. Mrs. Burd will return after spending a year on a much-deserved sabbatical. Mr. Gutgold returns to MA with his masters in curriculum and instruction and a masters in history from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has taught economics, government, sociology, psychology, and world history at the high school level. Mr. Gutgold brings with him a love for MA, a passion for history, and a student-centered approach to teaching and learning.

Kyla Manja '21 & Christian Manja '22 earned full scholarships to Berklee's Summer Global String Program. As part of the program, they studied under the direction of David Wallace, chair of Berklee’s String Department, while they explored in-depth a wide variety of string styles, including folk, jazz, bluegrass, classical, old-time, and Celtic.
