Moravian Academy Represented in Local Tree Decorating Charity Contest
Our Middle School students recently put their artistic abilities towards a good cause, decorating a Moravian Academy-inspired holiday tree for a local contest benefiting charities in the Lehigh Valley Area.
Hoping to raise money for Northeast Community Center, the students adorned the tree - along with Moravian Academy pennants, red and gold ribbons, and the lyrics of the Moravian Academy alma mater - with handcrafted clay house ornaments emulating the Northeast Community Center logo.
Sponsoring the contest, Mountain View Drive-In - a mini-golf and drive-in restaurant in Bushkill Township owned by Moravian Academy parents Lanie and John Yaswinski - will provide prize money ($1000, $500, $250) for the three trees that receive the most votes from its customers. Votes can only be cast in-person at the restaurant itself, where the trees will be displayed December 9th through December 24th. The prize money will go directly to charities of each winners' choosing.
We encourage Moravian Academy families to visit Mountain View Drive-In and cast their vote for the students' tree! No matter the outcome - great job students!
