Athletics Update: April 12, 2024
While the weather has presented challenges for practice and competition, the Varsity Boys’ Tennis Team is on a roll!
They have continued their winning ways and currently sit in first place in the Colonial League and District XI standings with an 8-0 record. They also defeated EPC opponent Nazareth and were leading Freedom before the match was suspended due to rain. The Freedom match will be continued on Saturday. With only two regular season matches left, the boys will be preparing to defend their Colonial League Title. They will compete in the Colonial League Tournament on Thursday, 4/18, at 12:00 PM at Saucon Valley High School.
Our Varsity Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse Teams are the two groups that have been most impacted by the rain. Our girls’ lacrosse team is currently 1-5 and experienced a tough loss yesterday vs. Saucon Valley in the last 10 seconds of the game. The girls will look to rebound next week as we host Emmaus on Tuesday.
The Boys’ Lacrosse Team is 2-4 and got a resounding win yesterday on the road at Saucon Valley. The team has suffered some injuries that have hurt their performances, but younger players are now receiving opportunities to contribute. They will have a challenging upcoming week as the team travels to Emmaus before returning home to host Bethlehem Catholic.
Our Track and Field athletes have done well with Notre Dame of Green Pond. The boys’ team is currently 3-2 while the girls’ record is 4-1. Our athletes should be proud of the contributions they have made to the program. Please use this link to view the latest Colonial League track and field performances.
We have also created a new opportunity for our students this spring as we developed a co-operative sponsorship with Notre Dame of Green Pond in Boys’ Volleyball. A number of our students have embraced that chance to compete. The team’s record is 1-5 as the program is still in its relative infancy. Here is a link to follow the team’s progress.
Although we were not able to support a Varsity Baseball team this spring, our Junior High program is alive and well. With students from our three campuses joining forces, we are competing in a joint schedule with the Colonial League and EPC conference. Come out and support the team this spring. Here is a link to their schedule.
Please stay up to date with our teams by following them on the Moravianathletics.org site.
Go Lions!
