Athletics Update: October 1, 2021
The varsity girls’ tennis team secured the first Colonial League title of the 2021-22 season.
The team competed with great poise as they secured 1st place finishes at 2nd singles, 3rd singles, 1st doubles, and 2nd doubles to earn gold. The team won both the regular season title and the tournament title. Congratulations to the team and Coach Brown! The team will now shift their focus to the District Singles tournament. Isabella Bartolacci '22 has earned the #1 seed while Chessie Bartolacci '24 is the #2 seed. Jamilie Atiyeh '22 is the #6 seed in the tournament. Good luck to the girls as they start that competition on Monday, 10/4, at Lehigh University.

Golfers Sebastian Holbrook '22 and Thomas Young '24 will compete in the District XI qualifier on Monday, 10/4, at Olde Homestead golf course. Thomas qualified for the opportunity with a 77 season average while Sebastian earned his spot with an 80 average. Good luck!
The varsity boys’ soccer team has posted some impressive performances this week. They will look to finish the week as the team hosts Pen Argyl for a Saturday afternoon match. At the conclusion of tomorrow’s game, we will recognize the seniors and their families. The boys’ are currently ranked the #1 A team in District XI.
The varsity girls’ soccer team will also look to finish the week on a positive note as they travel to Pen Argyl Saturday afternoon. The girls posted two solid wins vs. Saucon Valley and were previously undefeated in the Colonial League, Northern Lehigh. Here is a link to an article from yesterday’s win.
The varsity field hockey team will also play on Saturday to wrap up a busy week. The team defeated Northwestern and Salisbury at home on Tuesday and Thursday. The girls experienced a setback against a tough Palmerton team on the turf. We also look forward to celebrating our field hockey seniors and their families on Monday 10/4.

The boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams continue to perform very well in Colonial League competitions! With only 2 regular season meets left on the schedule, the runners will look to start the final phase of their preparation for the Colonial League and District XI Championships.
