Athletics Update: October 13

Big week on the courts as the varsity girls’ tennis team went 3-0 in District Team competition! 

The girls defeated Wilson, Blue Mountain, and Allentown Central Catholic in the District finals to secure their fifth consecutive District Team Title!  Here is the LehighValleyLive article highlighting the team’s victory. With that victory, the team moves on to the PIAA State Team tournament set to begin on Tuesday, October 24.

The varsity golf team’s season came to end in the PIAA sub-regional tournament as they were defeated by Devon Prep, but Mara Dubacher '26, Emma Xu '25, and Colin Schreiber '26 will compete in the individual PIAA Championships this week.  Good luck to our three golfers as they look for a strong finish on the links.

The boys’ soccer team finished the week with a 1-1 record as they defeated Catasauqua in the last regular season game by a 6-0 score.  The team’s focus is now on the Colonial League tournament.  After earning the #3 seed, they will face Wilson in the ¼ finals on Monday, October 16 with kickoff at 7:30 PM.

The field hockey season continues as they look forward to District XI competition.  After suffering a 3-1 loss in the Colonial League playoffs, the team will look to rebound with a strong week of preparation.  The team finished the regular season with a 8-7-1 record.

The boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams have finished the regular season.  Both teams finished in 6th place in the Colonial League standings.  The girls’ team posted a 14-10 record with the boys finishing 13-11.  Next up for the runners are the Colonial League Championships set to take place on Wednesday, October 18,  at DeSales University.  The boys will run at 3:00 PM with the girls’ race set to follow at 3:45 PM. 

The girls’ soccer team finished the regular season with a 3-0 victory over non-league opponent, Wallenpaupack High School.  The team finished the regular season with a 9-6 overall record.  They have earned the #6 seed in the Colonial league tournament and will face the #3 seed, Palisades, in the ¼ finals.  

Let’s make sure to come and support all of our student-athletes as they continue to compete in the playoffs!  Come out to watch our varsity girls' and boys' soccer teams in the Colonial League tournament on Monday, October 16, at Catasauqua Alumni Field. Girls will play at 5:00 PM and the boys will follow at 7:00 PM.  All tickets must be purchased online using this link.
