Athletics Update: October 29

October 29, 2021

The Lions should continue to be proud of their efforts and results on the competitive fields and courts.

The varsity girls’ tennis team’s season came to end this past Tuesday as they were defeated 3-2 by Wyoming Seminary.  The girls have a lot to be proud of after finishing undefeated in regular season play as well as capturing both the Colonial League and District XI team titles!  Isabella '22 and Chessie Bartolacci’s '24 season continues as they will travel to Hershey next week for the PIAA Doubles tournament.

We are also celebrating the victory of our boys’ cross-country team as they won gold at the District XI Championships.  Here is a video of our Team’s celebration!

Theo Urban '22 lead the boys’ team by finishing in 5th place overall with a 17:53 while Sam Carter '22 ended up in 10th with a 18:07.  Lily Eyvazzadeh '22 was our girls’ top finisher in 13th place and Sophie Lee '22 earned a 17th place finish, which qualified them to compete at the PIAA Championship meet. The girls’ team finished in 3rd place overall.  The boys’ cross-country team will compete in the PIAA Championship on Saturday, 11/6.  Click on the links to see the full results of the girls and boys cross country district championships.

Our girls’ soccer team also performed well in the ¼ finals of the District playoffs.  They won by a 4-0 score over Tri-Valley.  They will now take on Northern Lehigh on Tuesday, 11/2, at a site and time to be determined.  The boys’ soccer team will face Tri-Valley on Tuesday as well in the District semi-finals.  Our Field Hockey team will play on Wednesday, 11/3, against the winner of the Palisades/Northwestern match-up.
