What we're curious about
As we welcome warmer weather and more in-person students, and as we enter the home stretch to exams and final projects, we've been making a point to get up and get moving, all while reviewing the high-frequency vocabulary and structures we've been acquiring since September. It's time to review, practice, reflect on our learning, enjoy the sunshine and remember our "why" for learning French.
Our Advanced French: Chanson Francophone class just completed a musical discovery project. The goal was to explore a variety of French-speaking musical artists around the world and to listen to songs from both past and present. There were required artists for the students to discover, but there was also some room for exploration based on personal musical preferences.
This semester in the Chanson francophone topics course, Advanced French students are discovering and decoding a variety of French music in order to delve into a variety of topics, including language and identity, history, the environment and Black Lives Matter.
