COVID-19 Vaccine Access Drive

April 16, 2021

“April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.” - William Shakespeare

Although April has clearly arrived with its traditional spring showers, we see new life and that “spirit of youth” all around us. Little by little nature awakens, and we, too, are carefully coming out of what has been a very long period of isolation.

But signs of hope continue to glimmer each day, there is light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. This week our focus is on the Covid vaccine, and providing access for those who are interested.

We are facilitating a Covid-19 Vaccine Access Drive, thanks to our continued partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network. Now that all PA residents ages 16 and over are eligible to be vaccinated, St. Luke’s continues to partner with us in an effort to facilitate vaccine appointments for Moravian Academy students.

  • If your 18+ year old student would like to receive the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine please have them complete this Covid Vaccine Sign-Up Form by Tuesday, April 20. The information obtained within the form will be sent directly to St. Luke’s and a representative from the Health Network will make direct contact with your student to swiftly schedule their vaccine appointment.

  • If you would like to schedule an appointment for your 16 or 17 year old student to receive the Pfizer vaccine, please create a MyChart Account through St. Luke’s using the instructions found below. Once you have created an account you will have access to schedule an appointment through the online system.

Similarly, now that some of our students have already been vaccinated we are also hosting a Vaccine Registration Drive. Once your student has received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine please send a photo of their vaccination card to our US School Nurse, Ms. Coleen Kenyon. Ms. Kenyon will store a digital copy of student vaccination cards in our confidential health database. Having student vaccinations on record will be beneficial, particularly for contact tracing purposes.

  • Fully vaccinated students (2 weeks past dose 2 of the vaccine) will not be required to quarantine following exposure to a positive case; this means no missed in-person instruction or co-curricular practices/events.

  • Fully vaccinated 11th/12th grade students will not require testing prior to the prom.

  • Outside of school, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to test or quarantine for domestic or international travel (see the infographic with additional information  below).

The health of our community will remain a top priority as we work to bring this school year to a successful conclusion. Please be in touch if you have questions or need clarification.
