The debate team got off to a great start on Saturday, November 2nd at the Allentown Diocese Forensics League and The Catholic Forensic League of Scranton Fall Kick-Off tournament at Berks Catholic High School in Reading. 

Students debated the merits of cyber warfare in Public Forum events and the value of fossil fuel subsidies in Lincoln-Douglas style debates. In their first experience at a debate tournament, Rohan Mehta '23 placed second in the Novice Lincoln Douglas event and the Public Forum duo of Wisdom Ufondu '23 & Okezue Bell '23 placed second. Mikail Jaffer '22 and Divik Verma '22 placed fourth in the Varsity Public Forum Debate and Neha Skandan placed fourth in the Variety Lincoln-Douglas Debate. 

The debate is poised for great things this year. With able student leadership from Julius Ewungkem '20, Bethany Marzella '20, Avi Singh '20 and Neha Skandan '21, they are truly and example of Moravian students growing in mind, body and spirit.
