Experience the Wonders of Our Year-Round Primer Program

May 06, 2020

Stella is smiling from ear to ear as she lines up with her classmates. It is time to head to the Lower School gym for their physical education class.

She is looking forward to slithering “like a snake” and flapping her arms like a “bird of prey.” Being able to take part in the Moravian Academy specials program that includes physical education, foreign language, music, and library, is just one of the many advantages our Primer students experience. The program for three-year old children is currently in its sixth year and thriving under lead teacher Brooke Bauer.

Daily, our Primer students engage in robust, stimulating, and individualized activities. Cognitive, social and emotional, language, and physical development are nurtured through individualized and group activities.

Families can choose to enroll their child for three, four or five days with an option of full or half days. Our flexible scheduling allows families to choose the right fit for their little one. Primer students follow the Lower School day with doors opening at 8:00 am and dismissing at 3:00 pm. Extended care is also available in the morning beginning at 7:30 am and in the afternoon until 6:00 pm.

We are now pleased to also offer a summer extension of the Primer program at our Merle-Smith campus through our Summer at Moravian Academy Day Camp. Feel confident knowing your child will continue to thrive in our Moravian community and still experience the joys of summer through the amenities of the Upper School campus. Fun and engaging theme based weeks involve the children in arts and crafts, games, special interactive experiences and more.

Families have the option to have camp work around their schedule with the ability to enroll for half or full days, one to five days of the week.
