Each set of partners have been assigned a book to read each evening so they are ready to discuss with their partner each day. 

When partners meet, they will retell and summarize what they've read as well as focus on envisioning by "walking in the shoes of characters and experiencing the story as they read it."

Students also discuss character traits of both main and supporting characters and find evidence from the text to support their choices. Each day the students score their reading rate. They are recording their WPM on their own fluency check-in chart, and their goal is to improve their score! Each set of partners ends their meeting by discussing their reading plans for the evening.
