Recently in our film-based Advanced French (School & Home) course, our students chose fifteen different French films with French subtitles to watch on their own for interpretive listening and reading practice.

They have created creative, visual presentations to describe the characters, explain the plot and analyze the film overall, either encouraging or discouraging us from watching the film ourselves. Inspired by an idea by Chelsea Maund '24 and March Madness, their homework assignment this week has been to watch all the individual film trailers in French in order to fill out our bracket for what I’m calling “La cinéfolie 2022” ! Whichever film gets the most votes will be shown as a fun reward at the end of the semester. Do you love or want to discover more French cinema?
