Spanish Immersion Kindergarten Learns About Puerto Rican Culture

October 03, 2019

The Spanish Immersion Program Kindergarten students enjoyed a day fully immersed in Puerto Rican culture.

Our class shared a special lunch where they could be part of the preparation. The students were able to learn the rich spices of the culture. We prepared yellow rice with black beans, avocado salad "gazpacho" and plantains.

SIP Kindergarten - Puerto Rican Culture Lesson

Our day ended with a visit from the Puerto Rican seniors from the Hispanic Center. Our guests transported us to their culture with music and the history of Puerto Rico, and most important of all, they shared their love as a community.
