Middle School Athletic Update 9.15.20
September 18, 2020
We have developed an alternative afternoon athletic program, in partnership with the St. Luke’s sports performance team, that will allow our students to be physically active, continue to develop technical skills in the sports of soccer and field hockey, and also maintain our student cohorts.
Program Details:
- Program Dates and Times: Monday, September 21 - Friday October 30, 3:30 - 5:00 pm.
- Location: Glasser Fields - students will be transported by bus after school, they will need to be masked and will be seated using Moravian Academy’s physical distance guidelines. Students should be dressed appropriately to be outside.
- Pick-Up Location: Glasser Fields, 5:00 pm.
- The program will be offered to one grade per day. We will rotate 6th, 7th, and 8th grades; depending on the week, each grade can participate 1 or 2 days/week.
- 3:30-4:15 pm: Co-ed speed and agility training conducted by the St. Luke’s sports performance staff. Students who would only like to participate in this option, need to be picked up at 4:15 pm.
- 4:15-5:00 pm: Sport specific technical training, conducted by teams and run by Moravian coaches, in field hockey and boys’ and girls’ soccer. Cleats and/or turf shoes are recommended for the activities. Field hockey players will need to bring their sticks.
We are looking forward to being able to offer these opportunities to our middle school students. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or Ms. Crivellaro.
