This fall, I spent time creating a Moravian Academy Fight Song. In the tradition of fight songs everywhere, it's equal parts rousing and corny, but it is easy to sing, references many of our Moravian heroes and institutions, and is dedicated to Arnav Krishna '20 and his motto of "Relentless Positivity, " which we have adopted at the Upper School.
It's not easy to incorporate something new like this into our school culture, especially given the age of our institution. We already have a beloved alma mater, but given our rich musical heritage, I don't think it's a stretch for us to have a fight song as well. I hope that you will take a moment to look at it, and maybe even try to sing it, alone or with friends (you never know!). Making something a part of Moravian's culture and traditions begins with small but bold steps. Years from now, the fight song may be something our community sings together and rallies around, and you'll be able to say you were "there" when it "dropped."
May this song gives us another opportunity to raise our voices with positive energy and good cheer!
