Middle School students are working on Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, PJAS, microbiology projects. Projects include testing facial cleaners, surface cleaners, sanitizers with varying % of alcohol, and natural antibiotics on bacterial growth.
Harchaet Singh '28 even sampled water from several different sources and treated the water with UV light to test effect of the UV light on bacterial growth. Students completed their microbiology projects using proper plating, inoculation, and incubating procedures.
