The Moravian Academy Quiz Bowl Team competed in the annual PBS 39 Scholastic Scrimmage Competition this fall against other schools in the Lehigh Valley.

The team won the competition by defeating Stroudsburg High School, Bethlehem Catholic High School, and Emmaus High School in head-to-head matches.

The matches consist of toss-up questions and bonus questions on a variety of topics like math, science, literature, history, politics, current events, and pop culture.

This is Moravian Academy’s fourth time winning the Scholastic Scrimmage competition, and the team performed excellently throughout the competition resulting in overwhelming victories in each round. The team members possess a balance of knowledge that allows them to complement each other and work well together. 

The team members are: YiYi Chen ‘22, Eric Jackson ‘22, Samit Mohapatra ‘22, Divik Verma ‘22

With the following alternates: Andrew Burke ‘22, Lily Eyvazzadeh ‘22, Sebastian Holbrook ‘22, Theo Urban ‘22

Divik Verma '22  represented MA in the All-Star Match in the quarter-finals, and his team won that match.

The matches will be aired on PBS 39 on and after the following dates on January 28, February 25, March 11, and March 18.
