Moravian Academy Upper School Speech and Debate members competed virtually at the Blue Maroon and White Tournament NIETOC Qualifier tournament and the DSDL Online Tournament, a tournament in North Carolina, with leadership from Okezue Bell ’23, Wisdom Ufondu ’23, and Mikail Jaffer ’22.

At the Blue Maroon and White Tournament NIETOC Qualifier, Rayna Malhotra ’24 and Alizeh Ali ’24 placed first in the novice division with two wins. Rayna Malhotra ’24 continued her success with Ginny Toso ’24, and the two placed first in the novice division, this time undefeated with a 4-0 score. The team’s other competitors included Aman Desai ’24, Connor Walters ’25, Meliane Teleo ’25, Jeswill Ewungkem ’25, Taaran Kaur ’25, Melanie Rose-Wentum ’25, also performed well at the tournament. Taaran Kaur ’25 and Melanie Rose-Wentum ’25, and Rayna Malhotra ’24 and Alizeh Ali ’24, had very high speaking points across the rounds.
