Upper School Athletics Update 9.18.20
It was great to see some fall athletes on our fields again after a long hiatus! Our Upper School athletic teams have been practicing for a few weeks and have been itching for some competitions.
The Varsity Golf and Varsity Girls’ Tennis teams got us started with some impressive results. The Golf team went 5-0 for the week and shot an impressive combine score of 379 on Thursday to defeat Southern Lehigh and Salisbury. Evan Eichenlaub shot a 68 and was 3 under par for the round.
The Girls’ Tennis team also went undefeated this week with a 3-0 record and look poised to once again compete for a league title.
The rest of our teams at the Upper School will begin their competitions this coming week. The Boys’ Soccer Team coming off their 2019 State Championship will kick off the season with a home game vs. Palisades on Monday 9/21, 4:00 pm start. The Girls’ Soccer team will travel to Palisades on Monday as well. Field Hockey and Cross Country will have to wait until Tuesday 9/22 to compete. Field Hockey will welcome Southern Lehigh for a 4:00 pm start and Cross Country will hit the road to Palisades.
As we continue to face challenges associated with COVID-19, we want to make sure that our athletes, coaches, staff, and spectators follow the current guidelines set forth by the members of the Colonial League, with guidance from the Governor’s Office, the PA Department of Education, and the PIAA. Please review the current Spectator Expectations.
We are excited to also announce that we will be streaming a number of fall competitions for live viewing. We will make sure to share with you the events that we will be streaming live.
