Athletics Update: February 12, 2024
This week marked the conclusion of the competitive season for the Varsity Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams.
We were fortunate to be able to celebrate our senior girls’ basketball players and their families before the beginning of our last home game. Thanks to Emily Cho, Alicia Gordon, Quinn Lauden, Lena Nifong, and Ava Noel for their contributions to our program. The team also responded with a strong performance by defeating Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg to keep the positive spirits going. They followed that result with another win to close out their season on Wednesday night. The team beat Lehigh Valley Academy to end the year. The team finished with a 7-14 overall record.
The Varsity Boys’ Basketball teams season also concluded this week with two tough losses. The boys lost to District playoff bound Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg on Monday. The team competed fervently during their last home game of the season versus Catasauqua, but lost by a 62-65 score. The team’s overall record was 6-16. Thank you to all of the basketball players for their commitment during the season.
Our Varsity Boys’ Swim team experienced their first set back of the year losing a close meet to Southern Lehigh. The team returned to action on Friday, February 9, as they hosted Whitehall for Senior Day. The boys lost another close meet, but posted some fast times. Their record now stands at an impressive 10-2.
The Varsity Girls’ Swim team had a successful rebound from their loss to Southern Lehigh. They defeated Whitehall by a 85-84 score to secure the win. With one meet remaining in the regular season, this will be the last opportunity for our swimmers to qualify for District times.
