On February 29th, the debate team competed at the ADFL National Qualifiers Tournament. The team consisted of Avi Singh ‘20, William Werner ‘20, Neha Skandan ‘21, Divik Verma ‘22, Mikail Jaffer ‘22, Okezue Bell ‘23, Wisdom Ufondu ‘23, and Rohan Mehta ‘23.

In Public Forum duo debate, Okezue Bell ‘23 and Wisdom Ufondu ‘23 became the regional champions, placing 1st and undefeated at the tournament. 

After many rounds of debating policies such as universal basic income and nuclear arsenals, the team placed 3rd overall in regional sweepstakes, with students holding the regional champions title for the 2nd year in a row. Neha Skandan ‘21 won this title last year.

In Lincoln Douglas solo debate, Rohan Mehta ‘23 placed 2nd and Neha Skandan ‘21 placed 4th in her division.
