Fifth-Grade Coat Drive Warms Hearts
The fifth-grade coat drive was a rip-roaring success.
Lower School students donated gently used coats, snow pants, winter boots, gloves, mittens, scarves, sweaters, and fleeces for children and adults. Fifth-graders organized all the items donated into bags over a number of days. There were 538 items collected: coats, hats, gloves, scarfs, and more!
On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, Kathleen Trimble from Pinebrook Family Answers arrived to fill her SUV with the first carload of warm winter wear. Many of the fifth-grade students helped load the car with the bags on warm winter clothing.
These items will warm the hearts and bodies of families in need in the Lehigh Valley. Fifth grade would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the Moravian Academy community for their generosity.
