The Sketchbook Project
Have you ever been to the Brooklyn Art Library? It is home to the largest collection of artist sketchbooks in the world. Over 41,000 sketchbooks from over 130 countries are there. Ms. Arnold recently visited the library and became inspired and curious.
Anyone is able to join The Sketchbook Project. Participants of the project order blank sketchbooks, choose a theme, fill them up and connect their books online with search terms, an artist bio and other unique content. Ms. Arnold plans to participate and hopes you will join her. As a class we will explore different types of sketchbooks, artists, and ideas. We will look at different mediums and Ms. Arnold will be able to guide you through the process of putting your ideas, curiosities, and wonderings into a sketchbook.
Every single sketchbook that is sent back to the Brooklyn Art Library is cataloged and placed on the shelves for visitors to view. For more information, please see The Sketchbook Project.
